1965 GTO Convertible. PHS documented WS 389/360 tripower 4 speed convertible.
I purchased it from the second owner’s son. The original owner pulled the 4 speed and installed the automatic so his wife could drive it. They changed the color from the original nightwatch blue to red sometime around 1970. The WS motor was pulled and a 1969 400 was installed. Nobody knew what became of the WS. The car spent about 30 years with the second owner in the mid west. When I purchased the car I sent the tripower out to be rebuilt and restored. I located all of the 4 speed parts for the M20, including the correct bell housing and new clutch. I had intentions on doing the trans swap and some more things this year but my plans have changed.
The GTO starts, runs and drives nice. The car needs a repaint. It has some bubbles and scratches. It’s had a quarter put on at some time. There’s been two small patches in the trunk area floor. The frame is in really nice condition. It’s a driver but could be an amazing GTO done.
