Vehicle Description
Vehicle Original VIN : 237675P228267
1965 GTO CONVERTIBLE, 389 V8, Tri-power, 4 speed manual transmission, power steering, 4 wheel disc brakes, power brakes, new American Racing wheels. Very nice upper end driver quality.
IS THIS CAR A REAL GTO OR COPY?
Title says model is GTO, it has the emblems and other GTO goodies. I really don't know if it is or not, I did put a picture of the VIN tag and cowl tag. Do your research if you want to know for sure. I did a little on the internet and didn't come to a conclusion. I'm not guaranteeing it to be a real one, past owner thought it was.
HOW IS THE BODY AS FAR AS RUST?
It see no rust bubbles in the paint, the frame looks real solid, I see no holes in the floors, some under coating.
HEAD LIGHTS WORK! TAIL LIGHTS WORK!
TURN SIGNALS WORK! BRAKE LIGHTS WORK!
GAS GAUGE WORKS! WINDSHIELD WIPERS WORK!
HEATER BLOWER WORKS! ORIGINAL AM RADIO NOT WORKING!
HORN NOT WORKING! GAUGES IN POD UNDER DASH!
HOW IS THE CONVERTIBLE TOP?
It look good, even new, the frame work is very clean. Top is power and goes up and down good. No boot cover.
HOW IS THE PAINT?
I consider it nice driver quality. Its look black is some light, but its a dark blue with metallic. I see no dent or dings and no rust bubbles. I see some touched up chips, a few specs and tiny flaw if I look for them. Its good, just not that perfect show winning paint. Pictures do make it look near perfect.
HOW IS THE GLASS?
Good, the windshield is clear, side window roll up and down good.
HOW IS THE INTERIOR?
Seat covers good, one tiny flaw in a seam in the passengers bottom. Carpet looks band new, door panels good.
HOW IS THE CHROME?
Bumpers shine good, a couple of tiny scuffs if you look real hard. Stainless good, emblems good.
HOW IS THE WEATHER STRIPPING?
It is not new, but good. The worst I see is cracks in the vent window rubber.
HOW IS THE ENGINE?
Past owner said it was a 389, I will try to look some codes up tomorrow and post what I find. It has a tri-power carburetor set up. Aluminum pullies and serpentine belt. The radiator is a big aluminum.
HOW IS THE TRNASMISSION?
Its a 4 speed manual, clutch is smooth with no slip.
HOW ARE THE TIRES AND WHEELS?
They look brand new, American Racing wheels.
HOW ARE THE BRAKES?
Better than factory, 4 wheel disc added with a power booster.
WHERE IS THE CAR LOCATED?
Here at my home in Athens, Tennessee 37303.

BOTTOM LINE:
we bought the car from a dealer friend near Cincinnati. Its not a perfect roll out of the trailer Show Queen, but its a nice driver. LOOK AT THE PRICES ON THEASE CARS!

I never recommend driving a Classic Car home on a long trip. Reason being, I only do short test drives like a garage would, the cars are inventory not my personal car I have owned for years and learned to trust.
