(Please note: If you happen to be viewing this 2006 Pontiac GTO on a website other than our Garage Kept Motors site, it's possible that you've only seen some of our many photographs of the car due to third-party website limitations. To be sure you access all the more than 145 photographs, as well as a short start-up and walk-around video, and a link to the GTO's 2-owner, accident-and-damage-free, very low-mileage Carfax history report, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.)
"If you want to shop around for other true four-seaters that can run with this Pontiac, you'll be visiting BMW and Mercedes-Benz showrooms, and be looking at ,000-plus window stickers." - Edmunds road test.
It wasn't just Edmunds hailing the performance of the last-year GTO, as DrivingLine noted: "With a six-speed GTO, Car and Driver got 0-60 in 4.8 seconds and the quarter-mile in 13.3 seconds at 107 mph. That was hauling.... After three years, Pontiac sold just under 41,000 of what was its quickest, best handling GTO ever." The writers went on to provide more GTO development stats: "For 2005, the GTO got a few upgrades including a pair of hood scoops, dual exhaust outlets in the rear, bigger brakes and a larger LS2 V8 that made 400 horsepower. All of this improved upon the car's already impressive performance, while also giving it a dash of extra curb appeal. The GTO continued into 2006 with minor changes, but with the end of Monaro production in Australia, this also marked the end of the Pontiac GTO's three-year revival. In 2009, General Motors decided to shut down the Pontiac brand as a result of the economic recession - and this meant there would never be another GTO produced."
Offered here in classic black-on-black is a 2006 Pontiac GTO, the last year for the GTO and indeed, for all of Pontiac. The car has been well cared for, respected by its owners, and very lightly driven. Showing just 6,877 miles on its odometer, it has traveled just 458 miles per-year on average. This GTO's exceptional condition is the result of that limited use.
The black paint-nicely accented with a narrow red pinstripe-shows beautifully; black was an excellent choice by the original owner. One result of the black body paint is that trim (like the front twin grilles, rear valance red "GTO" lettering, and emblems) stands out. The "GTO 6.0 Litre" fender emblems are another example. Body-panel fit and finish is excellent, above GM standards of the day, owing to the Australian sourcing. The car's lower-body panels, its rear-deck spoiler, and rear-valance trim all show no signs of damage. Cabin glass and lighting lenses (including driving lights on the lower front valance) are clear and free of cracks. The five-spoke factory alloy wheels (with Pontiac-logo center caps) are free of curb rash; new Good Year® F1 performance tires are mounted.
Inside, the four-seater's racing-style, properly bolstered front and rear bucket seats are upholstered in black leather; the front-seats feature embroidered GTO identification on the upper portion of the backrests. The Pontiac-logo steering wheel fronts driver-focused, analog instruments with red faces. Across all the instruments and switchgear on the black dash, the white graphic markings are free of virtually any sign of wear. Door trim-including the step-over area of the door jamb, a reliable indicator of owner care-is likewise damage-free. The console-mounted Hurst® short shifter features the 6-speed shift pattern; to its rear there is a between-seat storage compartment. Cabin floors are black carpet protected by GTO-identified front carpet mats. The car's trunk is as spotless as the rest of the car.
Under the hood, the impressive, 6-liter LS2, 400-horsepower V8 makes for a memorable sight. The engine bay is perfectly clean and properly ordered. An upgraded K&N® air-intake and filter system is mounted. GTO-branded valve covers make their own performance statement. Viewed from below, the car's chassis retains a like-new appearance. There are no indications of damage from too-aggressive driving styles or track use. Metal finishes-including on the full-length dual exhaust system-are excellent. Nothing is out of place.
While the more than 145 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available on the GarageKeptMotors website showcase this GTO in detail from every angle, including from below, we expect and encourage in-person inspections at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance as our showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to get in touch anytime by phone or email if you have questions.
"The 2006 Pontiac GTO Is the Perfect Used Performance Car...." So said Road & Track in May 2016. That's about as succinct and powerful an endorsement as anyone could make for the last of the GTOs.

About Garage Kept Motors
Garage Kept Motors, LLC specializes in classic and specialty online auto sales.
For our consignors, we are the only auto brokers that offer a Transparent Sale Disclosure. This means, when a car sells, we provide an exact copy of the Bill of Sale. We do this so our clients know exactly who bought their car, where it went, and most importantly how much we sold it for. No funny business.
For our buyers, our vehicles are listed on the Internet, with over 100 photos, including undercarriage pictures, and walk-around videos of the vehicles running plus a narrative-style write-up of the cars history and features. Our international exposure allows us to sell cars across the globe, and we sell a majority of them out of state and overseas. We deliver honesty and consistency in our photos and descriptions, a “no surprise” approach, so buyers, both near and far, can invest with confidence sight unseen. We are not a gallery. Vehicles can be seen locally by appointment as potential buyers are given our undivided attention.
