You are looking at ONE of the MUST HAVE items for most train collctors: the Prewar Army Supply Train. This engine was just serviced and is running well. The lighted troop car and the searchlight car light up. Has track, transformer, and track clips. Hubba Hubba!
This one is from around 1940 and features

Here is a breakdown of all of the component conditions for you:
THE 5926 SET BOX
Shows wear and handling, but is structurally in good shape. The set number stamp is really strong, and the lettering on the box top showing "Army Train" is very legible. The corners are worn and there are some stains here and there. There is some tape on a few corners. There are a few very small punctures, probably from track. There is is some light pencil writing on the underside. The interior dividers are present.
STEAM ENGINE AND TENDER #500
We just serviced the 0-4-0 STEAM ENGINE, and it is running as you would expect. There are scratches on the engine, but it is complete and looks nice overall. Notice the different shades of olive green on this one. There is wear on the front cow catcher.
The TENDER (851M) is pretty clean with some scratches here and there. There is some light oxidation in the surface. The tab and slot couplers have some light surface rust. The tender is the version with the smooth coaltop.
FLAT CAR 572ST WITH TANK
The flat has the olive drab version of the wind up tank. The flat has lots of scratches on the top. The couplers show some light surface rust. The tank has a few scratches but looks pretty good. The tank did not work when I wound it, but I am also weary of winding it too tightly. Assume the tank does not operate. it does look nice--has the turret and guns.
FLAT CAR 572AA WITH ANTI-AIRCRAFT GUN
The flat has scratches on the top and sides. The couplers show some light surface rust. The anti-aircraft gun looks good.
SEARCHLIGHT CAR 561M
The flat has some scratches. The couplers show some light surface rust. Notice the platform has a slightly different shade of green than the flat. base. The searchlight housing looks nice. It lights up. Appears to have been rewired at some point in its long life.
OBSERVATION CAR 558M OFFICIAL CAR
The lithography on the windows showing the troops looks real nice. There are a few scratches here and there, but overall, this is a nice car. Couplers show some light surface rust. The rear platform railing shows a little oxidation. I cannot guarantee the red film is original. The car DOES light up nicely.
