    The Maritime Intelligence Unit is the Coast Guard component of this multi-agency, information management organization for the receipt, integration and dissemination of police, law enforcement and military intelligence regarding illegal drug and migrant trafficking and who knows what else!
    This patch was introduced in August 2009, a few weeks before the unit was redesignated a detachment and the patch changed.
    It is a new, medium size 4.5" wide and 4.5" tall color patch.
    It is computer sewn, 100% embroidered, with a navy blue merrowed edge and a plastic sealed back.
