    Description

    For sale is a truly unique collectable - a game-used, MLB-Authenticated baseball which was used in the 92nd at-bat of Padres' star Fernando Tatis Jr.'s rookie season, and the first career meeting with 2019 World Series MVP - Stephen Strasburg.
    This ball was pitched three times to lead off the top of the 1st inning of the 4/27/2019 game in Washington DC between the Nationals and the visiting Padres.  Tatis Jr would foul off Strasburg's third offering, and it would be collected and authenticated.  Strasburg would then go on to strike Tatis out with a different baseball.
    Despite a strong outing
    by Strasburg, the
    Nationals would lose this game 8-3 in 10 innings.
    Authenticated balls such as this are sent mid-game to sale to the public, and are sold by the team. The authentication is input by the on-site MLB authenticators, who apply the holograms and enter the details of the play.  Authentications can be verified through the MLB.com site.  This ball carries the hologram JD199446.  I have attached a screen shot for your review of the MLB authentication serial number search result.
    This spectacular ball has great coloration and character, and is truly a 1-of-a-kind item!  The auction will include the plastic ball cube displayed in the photos, as well as a printout of the MLB authentication page.
