This specific game-used baseball is MLB-authenticated as a 4th-inning ground out by
2-TIME ALL STAR MASAHIRO TANAKA
off Nationals starter
GIO GONZALEZ.
Following Tanaka's at-bat the ball was pitched 3 times to
GLEYBER TORRES
before being removed from play and authenticated.  The game would later be suspended, tied 3-3 in the bottom of the 6th-inning, due to rain.  After play resumed on June 18, 2018, the Nationals defeated the Yankees 5-3.
This baseball is an exceptionally rare piece of Masahiro Tanaka's successful MLB career.  Spending his entire 7-years pitching for the Yankees, Tanaka rarely had to bat.  In the course of only 29 career plate appearances he collected exactly one hit, one walk and 12 strikeouts, leaving only 15 instances he batted a ball into play.  A number that likely will remain unchanged as Tanaka recently parted ways with the Yankees, and returned to Japan to play for the Rakuten Eagles in the NPB.
