Stanton 681 Stereo Phono Cartridge

For sale is this used Stanton 681 Stereo Phono Cartridge. On 7-9-2021, just prior to listing this item for sale, I mounted it on my turntable and played LPs with it. It tracked perfectly and sounded very good to my ears, dynamic and detailed. I do not have any high-end microscopes with which to examine the cartridge, but using a small hand-held magnifier, the stylus looked clean and well-formed to me.
There is a lot of information on the Web about this cartridge, particularly on Vinyl Engine and Audiokarma where there is much discussion of the high-quality sound it produces and suitable replacement styli should you want to go that route. One person there said this cartridge hummed in his system. A responder said that Stanton originally supplied elastomer mounting hardware (now lost of course) to isolate the cartridge from metal head shells and mounting hardware. This individual recommended either using plastic mounting hardware or removing the strap from the cartridge to one of the pins. I used a metal head shell, nylon bolts and metal nuts when I mounted it on my system. I had absolutely no hum.
